Your Aging Cat (and More!)

Hot on the furry heels (or is that “heals?”) of the Golden Oldies Senior Pet Blog Tour, I’ve a bonus article for those who share their hearts and lives with a senior kitty. Happy howl-idays!

Does your heart belong to a feline old fogy? You’re not alone. Half of all pet owners have an animal aged 7 or older. Modern veterinary care means cats often live into their late teens or early twenties. But living longer increases the chance they’ll develop common “old cat” conditions. Medical help is important, of course, but there are simple and/or inexpensive ways owners can help keep their aging cats happy and healthy. Read the rest of this exclusive article(including my age-helpful tips) at AOL’s Pawnation.

By the way, Gina Misiroglu of Red Room is the “pet connection” behind this Pawnation article, which is one of the creative ways she’s shining a light on Red Room and Red Room’s authors. Purrs to Gina and all the fine folks at RedRoom.com!

Tomorrow’s news—all about the Cat Writers Association recent awards and conference, and some of the winning entries (yep, more feline info). It’s taken a while to download all the sparkles, sequins and cat show video. But don’t worry,  the blog will “go to the dogs” soon enough with pet-centric and writer-ly holiday tips and more! For a preview, you can listen to excerpts from the books COMPLETE CARE FOR YOUR AGING DOG (and …CAT) at my Pet Peeves radio show.

Woofs & Purrs,

amy
